Surveyor Support Groups Based on Equipment
On Land Surveyors United we have dedicated support groups based on Location, Topics related to land surveying in general and Equipment manufacturers.  Members can simply join a group related to the particular type of surveying equipment they use and discuss issues related to field use.  You can share how-to related discussions, support documents or simply ask a question from the field.  Other members worldwide with experience with the same equipment can respond, share or contribute to a discussion on the group itself or from the portable version of Land Surveyors United, from their cell phone.  Below are just a few of the support groups for surveyors that can be found on the network.  Join us today!

Surveyor's Leveling Tool App for iPhone

posted Mar 18, 2010, 1:29 AM by Hugh Sorrell

Surveyor's Leveling Tool App for iPhone
This application will allow Surveyors to take site readings and reduce the levels real-time in the field.  No more waiting until you get back to the office, or doing it while you're in the field.

The app is FREE, and intially comes with 25 Turning Points or IDs.  The IDs are inexpensive  "consumables" that you must purchase to record the site readings.

Sites are initiated by supplying information, such as site name, address, etc.  You then can enter the initial readings:

     •  Temporary Benchmark (TBM)
     •  Backsight (BS)
     •  Instrument Height (IH)

Once you have the initial readings, you can enter the Foresight (FS) readings.  The "reduction" of each Foresight reading is computed immediately.

The final reduced readings are saved on the iPhone, or sent by email for later printing.
